The first work made in this series was Fall/Autumn, followed by Winter, then Spring and finally, Summer.

As the seasons/works progressed, they became slightly more difficult, progressing from -
* A simple narrative-over-music (in Fall), to
-
* Better narrative/music editing and arrangement (in Winter), to
-
* Increased sound effects, better still photography and video arrangement (in Spring) and finally,
-
* (in Summer) Use of special voice and digital audio effects, as well as a high level of care taken with the arrangement.
Selection of material -
Over 70 Students were given 5-7 mins to prepare something to say about one of the four seasons, and were not allowed to read from notes when recording.. Therefore, if the speaking of some students seems very choppy, try to understand that for most of them, they have never stepped foot inside an English speaking country - and only speak English for about 5-10 minutes a week, at their school English class.
From all the recordings, 27 'good' grabs were chosen for production.... 2 'okay' grabs from the Spring session were not used, as the students were too far off mic, and consequently there was too much ambient background noise. The same situation occurred with 1 grab from the Autumn/Fall recording session. This (amazingly) left 6 grabs for each season, which was also the ideal amount, as only Vivaldi's 'Summer' has a duration longer than 5 minutes... This means any more than 6 speakers (grabs) per season - and the music for Autumn, Winter and Spring would have finished before the students had finished! (apart from the fact that people probably cannot sit through more than a few minutes of these recordings anyway).
