Brother and sister Matthew and Bliss have traveled through dozens of countries together. They represent a new type of traveler, people who are not just adventurous, but are determined not to just 'do' the beaten track, as hawked by tour guides and agencies. In this one hour intimate and unedited conversation, they not only offer tons of practical advice for the would-be 'around the world' cyclist, but dig deeper into what motivates them to travel together, and sometimes apart, as a brother and sister cycling team.

Two travelers: Matthew and his sister, Bliss - are from Oregon, in the United States... Together they have traveled through well over a dozen countries together - on bicycles. In fact they aim to travel through as much of the world as possible - using pedal power.

They represent a new breed of traveler - people who don't like to always follow what the tour guides and guidebooks usually recommend. Instead, they prefer to take the time to meet the locals, from Guatemala, all the way to Napier (in New Zealand)...

Matthew and Bliss are very much part of what tourism scholars call 'Generation Y' - those currently aged between 17 and 34... This generation is already known to be the most adventurous to date, when compared to the earlier 'Generation X' - and the even earlier 'Baby Boomers'.

As a young couple of just 28 and 31, they reveal a surprising amount of maturity and insight into the world around them... Glen Clifford caught up with them at their Auckland lodgings...
