In very recent times, there's been a huge change in the retail landscape of Australia's Capital City.
The likelihood of not one - but twelve sushi restaurants, scattered across the city, would have seemed impossible only twelve months ago. Add to this, five manicure shops - jammed full of women getting their nails
trimmed and lacquered. Most recently four new massage shops, offering
express lunchtime stress relief for government office workers have opened.
But there is another dimension to this story. Not only are these all new business enterprises, they have all been opened by new Australians: From
Asia.
The manicure shops are owned by migrants from Vietnam, the Massage
shops by Chinese - and what may come as a surprise, the Sushi
restaurants are all owned by Koreans.
